MEDIA NOTE – – La Salle’s Ken Skelly and Bay View’s Carol Beaudette were honored as Coach of the Year by their respective peers. Skelly piloted the La sale boys to a 10-0 mark in their divison. La Salle won both the R.I. and New England team crown. Beaudette’s Bengals finished 8-3 in the Metro bracket, and sixth in state team standings.
Course Note: The Rams’ DJ Principe is currently ranked 10th in the United States by DyeStat, the online news service . . . South Kingstown sophomore Ellie Lawler received honorable mention by DyeStat. Lawler is this year’s individual harrier champ . . . A junior, Principe this season led La Salle to the state and New England team titles, while winning both championship races . . . Qualifiers for the Foot Locker and Nike Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, 28 Nov. The Foot Locker Northeast Regional race (individual runners) will be staged at Van Cortlandt Park, New York. The Nike Northeast region qualifier will be held at Bowdoin Park, Wappingers Falls, N.Y. . . . Foot Locker finals are scheduled for 12 Dec. in San Diego, CA. The Nike team nationals are held in Portland, Ore. On 5 Dec.
