Daily-Harris, Cheatham, Braboy, Johnson Top Scorers at USTF Club Championships

9 July - - Competing for the Providence Cobras Track Club, a number of top prep athletes were entered at the USATF National Club Championships, held over the weekend at Icahn Stadium in New York City.
The Cobra girls’ team finished 14th with 13.50 points. The boys’ squad came in No. 30 (3 points).
Dakota Dailey-Harris, the La Salle Academy All-State high jumper, finished third in New York at a height of 5 feet, 6.50 inches (1.69 meters). Dailey-Harris broke a 29 yer-old Rhode Island record for the girls’ high jump, clering 5-9.25 (1.76) at the June 4 State Meet. Also in New York, Dailey-Harris finished 15th in the girls’ long jump.
Hope High standout Royal Cheatham finished seventh in the girls’ 100-meter finals (12.43). Bay View’s Daria Braboy was 14th finisher in the girls’ 400. Kadji Johnson, who competed for Central Falls High, came in sixth in the girls’ 4-kilo hammer.
For the Cobra boys, Jarell Forbes, Classical High’s star hurdler this past spring, placed 13th in the 400 intermediate hurdles.

LJ - 16, Troy Johnson 20-2.25 (6.15 meters).
400 - 11, Craig Amado 48.60.
