25 Sept. - - The La Salle girls’ cross country team took first place at a meet in Bowdoin, N.Y., and senior Molly Keating finished second in the 3.-mile race at Bowdoin Park.
The Rams gathered 58 points, to 66 for second-place Weston, Mass. Keating, a senior and defending R.I. champ, clocked 20 minutes, 3 seconds in placing second behind winner Olivia Brackett, of Weston (19:53). Placing ninth for the Rams was Caitlin Marino, in a time of 21:02. La Salle also got points from Evie Jansen, who finished 16th (21:41); Tiana Kibbe (18th, 21:46) and Caroline Falvey, who clocked 22:01, good for 20th place.
Other Ram finishers: 23, Vicky Varone 22:14; 32, Emily Papazian 22:55.
