1 Oct. 2010 – The La Salle girls’ team, and the Hendricken harriers topped the second of four coaches/media polls, conducted by the Track & Field Foundation. The Rams, who are currently ranked 15th nationally by Harrier Magazine, garnered 106 total points, just ahead of second-place Barrington (102).
In the boys’ survey, the Hawks once again dominated, gathering 136 total points, to La Salle’s 114. North Kingstown and Coventry came in tied for third (100 points).Around the Course Notes: Last weekend, Hendricken finished second at the Manchester Invitational meet in New Hampshire. The Hawks, with 95 points, were six points behind meet champion Brookline. Scorers for Hendricken were Ryan Meehan, Andy Andraka, Drew Manning, Nick Chrones, Mark Vuono, Alex Doherty and Ben Marino . . . The Hawks and La Salle girls travel to Cary, N.C. this weekend for the Great American Cross Country Festival. The Hawks finished second in that meet last year . . . A number of local teams, meanwhile, head north, to Thetford, Vt., for the annual Thetford Invitational.
