EAGLES’ KELLY BESTS OWN SR AT MILLROSE GAMES WEIGHT THROW;

14 Feb.  – – Barrington High senior Adam Kelly broke his own R.I. and New England record in the boys’ 25-pound weight throw Thursday night at the Millrose Games at the Armory in New York. Kelly achieved a winning mark of 83 feet, 3.25 inches (25.38 meters), bettering his previous best of 83 feet (25.30). Finishing second in that competition was Barrington’s Bobby Colantonio at 76-7.25 (23.35).

In the girls’ 20-pound weight throw at Millrose, Classical High senior Alva Hicks won with a toss of 53-2.75 (16.21). Her teammate, Lysah Russell, placed second.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Hope High senior Quashite “Q” Mc Intosh placed sixth in the Millrose girls’ 55-meter dash in 7.15.
