14 May – – Smithfield battled Cumberland for the girls’ Northern Division championship on Wednesday. The Sentinels scored 197points to the Clippers’ 145. Smithfield’s Stephanie Mattson won the long jump, while Cumberland’s Meaghan Scullin took three events. Cranston West junior Jenn Iozzi put the shot a winning 36-2 (11.02 meters.)
