4 Feb. – – Stanford University freshman Maddy Berkson finished fifth in the imperial mile this past weekend at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. She posted a time of 4 minutes 47.81 seconds in a 10-runner field. The race was won by Notre Dame sophomore Molly Seidel in 4:42.76.
Berkson, the former Classical High distance and mid-distance standout, holds the Rhode Island indoor mark for the girls’ mile; a 4:50.11 clocked last year at the Armory Track in New York City. Berkson is also the state record-holder in the outdoor mile (4:52.08).
